National Indigenous Accreditation Board (NIAB) Reviewer (2010 – Present)
Being that I have led the accreditation team since 2010, I remain an active honorary member of NIAB. The primary goal of NIAB is to serve Indigenous owned and controlled educational institutions. The primary service is to assess an institution or a program of study in terms of its achievements, congruence to stated goals and objectives and affirm it is culturally relevant and accountable to the Indigenous Nation and Peoples it serves.

Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee TLEAC.  This advisory committee provided strategic advice to the Minister of Education on the development of practice standards, policy and processes related to the six themes of the Teaching and Leadership Excellence Initiatives.

Professional Activity Outside the University

Saddle Lake Education Authority School Board. Saddle Lake Cree Nation (2007 – 2016; Serving for three consecutive terms)
Board of Director/Chair. The Board of Directors of the Saddle Lake Education School Authority is advisory to the Superintendent of Schools. As Chair, I managed and provided leadership to the Board of Directors. As an ongoing Board member, I assisted in planning and setting priorities for the local school system, taking into consideration the wishes of the Nation, the available resources and sound local educational practices. I assisted in policy writing that guided the administration and employees toward the Nation’s goals; assisting the Superintendent of schools in communicating with community and staff on educational matters. I made decisions regarding the health and safety of the students, assessing risks, and ensuring that the best interests of all their students, teachers, administrators, parents, and volunteers are being considered. During my second term, I was instrumental in the writing a $3 million proposal for the Nation’s Student Success Program.  

Peyasew Management Ltd. Management Board Saddle Lake Cree Nation (2006 – 2007)
Board of Directors. As a Board of Management member, I was responsible for the management of Peyasew Management Ltd., which included setting and achieving PML’s objectives, strategy, and policies; general affairs; and identifying and managing risks connected to PML's business activities. I was accountable to the shareholders and the trust company (O-Trust) that oversees the business affairs of all businesses on the Saddle Lake Cree Nation.
